Production
Manager
Description:
1. To manage manufacturing team and individual performance,
and to take corrective action where standards are not
being met, in line with company policy. Manage absence,
capability and disciplinary issues in line with company
procedures.
2.
To ensure customer delivery and quality requirements
and monthly invoiced sales and production targets are
met and exceeded whilst containing labour, materials
and indirect costs to budget.
3.
Manage the production planning function, establishing
a weekly review of the sales order book in order to
identify and progress all items in arrears. Advise sales
team of deviations from production plan and to provide
the General Manager with a forecast for Month End invoiced
sales and order book arrears.
4.Ensure
stock profile in managed in order that stock levels
and stock turn are optimised and ensure that they are
kept within the targeted levels identified for the business.
5.
Manage the purchasing function to ensure that all purchased
items including consumables, raw materials and subcontracted
product are ordered and delivered in line with customer
service requirements and company policy.
6.
Manage warehouse and distribution function to ensure
that excellent customer service and accuracy is maintained.
In conjunction with General Manager, ensure logistics
suppliers continue to offer best service and value for
money.
7.
With the help of the Financial Controller, develop and
implement systems and KPI’s for monitoring manufacturing
efficiency. Report on this on a monthly basis
8.
Recommend to the General Manager plans, CAPEX’s and
strategies for cost reduction and improvements in efficiency.
9.
Develop a resource plan, providing information and advice
on productive machine capabilities, plant layout and
labour levels for areas within responsibility. Recruit
and select new personnel to the department to meet the
resource plan.
10.
To conduct Performance & Development Reviews, setting
and reviewing objectives in line with company procedures.
11.
Formulate, implement and monitor team training plans
in line with Performance and Development Reviews. Develop
in house training to promote multi-skilling and a more
skilled and flexible labour resource,.
12.
Use the above Training Systems and Performance & Development
Reviews to assist the Company in achieving "Investors
In People" status..
13.
To take executive responsibility for Company Health
and Safety systems and assist in the development and
implementation of company Health & Safety systems, policies
and procedures.
14.
To undertake H&S checks on a monthly basis and ensure
that your team are fully trained in safety procedures
in line with Company H&S policy
15.
To assist the Management team in the working towards
and achieving ISO140001 environmental standards status.
16.
To authorise / manage holidays and to organise absence
cover in order to ensure that the production plan is
met and key customer service tasks are carried out.
17.
To promote best practice in housekeeping in order to
ensure that high standards are maintained in all areas,
at all times.
18.
Raise quality awareness across your team to improve
yield rates and reduce wastage, in order to maximise
margins.
19.
Ensure that all shop floor activity is in accordance
the Company Quality Management Systems and work with
the Technical Manager to maintain and develop those
systems.
20.
Manage maintenance function. Set up and monitor a system
of preventative maintenance. Develop and submit an annual
maintenance budget.
21.
Advise the Management Team where additional capacity
and hence opportunities for additional sales exist.
22.
To take an active part in maintaining and improving
employee relations and morale. To actively promote best
practice team-working
23.
Prepare an annual cost budget for your designated areas
in conjunction with General Manager.
24.
To comply fully at all times with the Company’s policies,
procedures and guidelines laid down in the performance
of all duties.
25.
To provide general back up assistance for other team
members, including job cover in their absence, as required.
26.
To carry out ad hoc tasks and projects as required,
and to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested
from time to time by your Line Manager or Senior Manager.

of Eastbourne Salary: To £40,000 per annum
